Mystery fuel tank

Hi all,
I'm looking at an R80 monolever which all matches nicely except there is only a LH fuel tap.
As far as I know only the R65/45 and the 80ST had single taps. Their tank design is quite different to a /7 or monolever tank.
I wonder if anyone can ID this tank?
Thanks

There was an R65 mono but AFAIK it had the same tank as the R80 including two taps and as you say the earlier R65 tanks were quite different.
BTW the valve covers are mounted on the wrong side in that picture, not that it's any sort of problem other than what it might say about the previous owner. You can swap them back again. Looks a very nice bike otherwise.

Is it a plastic or metal tank? Plastic ones for the mono existed but not for long. I've only ever seen one.

I don't have an answer to this one but a point to drop into the melting pot. Certain US models were fitted with a 'Clean Air System' or an 'Evaporative Control System' The first was also available on some European models. Could this tank be something to do with one of these systems?
