fork rod seals

I have searched but not found any help.
watched a few Ytube vids then stripped my forks and my fork has an rubber washer very strange.

should i have the rubber wash in or not?

got it now
of a parts web site

This is fitted below the 'guide support' at the top of the fork damper unit (the 'guide support' is the fork damper piston which takes the piston rings SUA32059).
Please note; this item does not fit R45 or R65 models.
