A nice saturday ride with my son

Post by grant81rs »

Gidday fellas,

With such lovely bright sun here in beautiful Gippsland today, it must be the only part of Victoria that isn't flooded at the moment "touch wood", I dragged the old RS out of the shed this morning, pointed it down the driveway and then called out to my Son to see if he was keen on a ride about 100kms East to the small pretty dairy farming township of Maffra to visit a old motor museum http://www.gippslandvehiclecollection.org.au/ that I was told about a little while ago but have never got around to actually stopping by for a look, so today it was going to happen....

We rode into Maffra about 1pm after a late start from home, had to get the saturday morning home jobs out of the way first, but we finally made it and with our bellies rumbling for some food our first stop and priority was the lovely old pub in the main street for a nice big counter meal and cold beer (lemonade for codi, he had to pillion) and what a lovely feed it was to....

Just around the corner from the pub and on the edge of town is the "Gippsland Vehicle Collection Museum" and what a fantastic old building to house something like this in and it is a real credit to all the volunteers that put this together with a great collection of vehicles, posters, tools, books, old signs, everything to do with motoring both 2 and 4 wheels from all corners of the globe.....

$8 bucks to enter and the lovely old lady at the counter kindy stored our helmets and jackets for us, so Codi and I push the big double door open to enter the hall packed with Vehicles and what the hell do you think we should seen straightway when we took and step in was this......

A Bloke brought it in Germany new and tourered all over the world on it so the small poster said...

Here are some other pix of the day

Is that another rocker cover on the wrong side? And on display too!

Hey Grant, that's the same fairing as the one from ebay.de I scored last year!

Those little spur of the moment outings can end up being very memorable days Grant.
Great that you two had a good day.
Have you noticed the increasing weight/decreasing room when riding with Codi on the back!
