I have'nt had the Opportunity to really open her up yet, though is it likely, with 106K up on her,
she could pass the ton or more, excepting we had enough straight tarmac ahead of us . :)
She feels really responsive at 80mph, which is the fastest I've had her to.

Before you try those speeds, make sure that she is completely stable. Check too your fork stiction. Take a good look at your tires and the pressure.

Yes, the "ton" is easy on the R75/5.

The one I've ridden with is about the same top speed as my R65. Not quite as fast as my Bonneville, but the difference is slight.

Before I get any snide come-backs, my Bonneville has quite a few more miles on it (about 96,000) than my buddy's /5. A few more top end jobs too, though. :-(

I saw 100mph on my R65 back when it was young. On a Motometer...

The R65 will do 100mph easy, and stay there quite happily if you can tolerate the wind blast.

I was always too uncertain of the stability of the R75/5 that i had years ago. It felt like it'd go hard enough, but I never pushed it...that I can remember.

That is why God gave us Euro bars.

I did 100mph recently on my R75/5, 107mph showing on the speedo, level ground, possibly a tailwind. My riding buddies on Japanese bikes were my indicator. This was at high altitude on a bike tuned for 3000', and it didn't feel like it could do more. Dang, I just realized, this probably means I wasn't going as fast as I thought, when I pegged the speedometer on my first R75/5 whilst riding the German Autobahn. (200kph = 125mph, that was probably on a downhill section, though)

The Moto meter was known for errors, always on the optimistic side in the 10-15 mph range at top end. The R75 in good mettle would do an honest 110 mph and show 120 mph.

Euro bars, a tank-bag to rest upon, and a full-face helmet with a visor.
