2002 BMW R1150R

2002 BMW R1150R, Non-ABS, approx 31,300 miles, in very good condition. 1130 CC 2 cylinder air/oil cooled engine, 6 speed transmission. The low center of gravity of the boxer engine makes for a sweet handling ride. Dual disc brakes on the front, single on the rear. The Metzeler Roadtec Z6 tires have about 5K miles on them and many more to go. I've owned it for a bit over two years, and have put about 11,000 miles on it. It is a great bike. It handles excellent, stops on a dime, runs very strong and has been quite reliable. It's a very good all-around bike for canyon carving, commuting, running errands, touring, etc.

Featuring:

R1150GS handguards.
Heated grips - low and high settings. These and the handguards are wonderful in colder weather.
Odyssey battery - starts first time, every time.
BMW System cases (hard bags) - keys match ignition.
Tinted windshield.
Throttlemeister.
High and low factory seats (shown with high seat).
Techlusion R259 Fuel Injection Control Module (slightly richens the fuel mixture for cooler running and better performance).
PIAA Powersports Sports Horn (not installed, new in package).
New rear brake pads (EBC FA-363) about 5K miles ago.
Improved LH cam chain tensioner installed.
Plastic fuel quick disconnects replaced with improved stainless steel ones.
The motorcycle does have a few cosmetic flaws and minor paint scratches - this is a daily rider not a garage queen.

Hey, Steve, have you ridden the R1200R? Boy, they really took a lot of weight off. I like that bike a lot.

Of course, it may be even cooler when it gets the OHC motor, but it's a big step up from the 1150 already.

No I haven't ridden an R1200R - I have been lusting after one for a while though. And they are sure big $$$! I sat on one recently at my local BMW boutique and it had the same problem I have with my R1150R: not enough legroom. Allegedly this can be fixed with a custom seat ($$$) or peg extenders (this of course reduces cornering clearance though).

If the R1200GS wasn't so expensive maybe I'd have one of those (not nearly as good looking though IMO), I understand they have more legroom.

So at this point, I just don't know what my next bike is going to be, if I can sell this one.

A Lot or Allot ?
A lot (two words) is an informal phrase meaning "many." It can take an adjective, for example, "a sizeable lot."
Example: Karl needed a lot of time for the job.
Allot means "to distribute between or among." It has the same root as lottery.
Example: He allotted three breaks a day to everyone in the department.
Alot does not exist as a word.

Perhaps this common spelling error began because there does exist in English a word spelled “allot” which is a verb meaning to apportion or grant. The correct form, with “a” and “lot” separated by a space is perhaps not often encountered in print because formal writers usually use other expressions such as “a great deal,” “often,” etc.
You shouldn’t write “alittle” either. It’s “a little.”

Is it a lot or alot?
This should be written as two words: a lot. A lot of people make the mistake of writing them as one. You would not dream of writing, "I am going for alittle walk," so use that to remember that these are two separate words. Remind yourself that just as you would not write alittle you should not write alot.

Why don't they add "alot" to the dictionary?
