Wishes for Christmas and the New Year

May the roads always be dry and clear of traffic.
May the shiny side always stay at the top.
May you avoid the Black Ice, the leaf drifts, the gravel in the junction, the diesel slick on the roundabout and the manhole cover on the apex of the bend, the pothole and the raised white line, the horse manure and the mud on the country road and all of those other little things that make life ‘interesting’.
May the bus pulling out and the Chelsea Tractor turning right and the business rep in his BMW, the housewife in her Fiesta and the pensioner in his Rover all be granted sufficient eyesight and wit not to pull into your path.
May errant children, dogs, horses, balls etc. etc. be kept out of the carriageway.
May cyclists, pedestrians and equestrians be few, bright enough keep in single file and to maintain a straight line.
May traffic holdups be few and slight.
May the oil stay in your engine and the air in your tyres.
May all ‘safety’ cameras be afflicted with blindness and all traffic lights be green.
May the weather always be fine and dry.
Most of all, may you enjoy many miles of riding and come home safely each time.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
