I'm looking for a replacement front disc brake rotor and pads for a friends 1991 R100GS. BMW dealers are asking $465+ for OEM. Any better, cheaper options out there?

I installed a EBC rotor and pads this past spring, I am happy with the stopping power of the new disk.

Wemoto in England has Kyoto disks for less than GBP 60-.
They are OEM quality - I have a six pot with Vesrah pads and the set up works better than OEM/EBC
You have to drill out the bobbins, and bolt them to your existing center, but the bobbins are the softest stainless steel I have ever come across.

Check Motobins as well. They have some aftermarket rotors at a reasonable price.

Are there any cast iron rotors available? Mine are scored from over use and eventually will have to be replaced. Cast Iron is like taking the condom off!

Overlander Equipment , in Oz , still makes CI disks to order, dont know how you would go with the floating disk on the GS if that is what you are after.
