New windshield sources for a '84 RS

My buff out attempt on the stock plexi windshield was a dismal failure. Oh well, I wasn't expecting it to work anyway. The windshield is just too old.
Other than Max's, and the local dealer, are there other on-line sources or deals out there for new stock screens?

Randy, I've heard good things about Clearview. Have a look:

Then, how 'bout yer buddy at Airhead Salvage? Isn't he in yer neck o' the woods?

Hmmmm . . . cutting costs . . . isn't that how you got into this predicament? ;)

Since the end result would be a nice and clear looking shield or a new replacement, there was nothing to loose to try a buff out first. The shield was fugly as all get out to begin with. A buff out I did worked beautifully a bit over three years ago. But this resent attempt didn't work. Guess the plexi has gotten too far over the hill.
Funny Scot, I hadn't thought of Air/Salv. I'll drop him a email. Doubt he has a real good one, but worth a try anyway.
Thnx.

a good used stock shield is asking for quite a bit IMO. Ive got some semi stock shaped aftermarket windshields but they ain't stockers. I say thank yer lucky stars that a stock shield is even still available.................& don't put off that purchase too long else you may look back & spend the rest of your life thinking about how you USED to be able to pay XXX dollars for a new one at the dealer.
I love RS's.

This is an '84 with a BMW smoked windshield. Not correct for the year, smoked was introduced with the mono shock
RS.

Another issue. Buffeting from the screen. This depends on the relationship b/w rider height/helmet to screen position. Buffeting on the RS can turn you against them, but the solution is simple.

The spare stock windshield I have measures 39cm up the middle.

To reduce the helmet buffeting, the one I have on my bike is cut to 34cm. If I was to do it again, I think I'd go to 32cm. I'm 186cm tall. Going taller makes the bike look silly imho, and it wasn't that effective when I tried it anyhow.

Image Parabellum make screens too Randy. Available in different heights
and is available in Low 16" - Med 18" - Tall 20".
Just other stuff to consider if you come across a used one.
