A recent post by GSPD about the tough penalties for speeding in Ontario Canada, and just instituted Draconian traffic laws in British Columbia, got me thinking. There has got to be a market for counter measures.

What I would like start here is a brainstorming session on products we could sell, and use, that would enable us to avoid the penalties we could receive, just for riding safely.

I will start with a product I have already made and used. What would also be helpful is if we could name and describe the product in a way that obfuscates it's best utility.

My first product would be marketed as, off the top of my head, as the "Clean tail."

Ostensibly as a product that allows easy cleaning of the area around your license plate, the Clean Tail works by pulling a choke type cable handle, which then lifts your license plate at will, in order to clean under it. You get the idea. I made these in the past and it was quite an effective tool for protecting your identity.

My second idea, Karma Chameleon Helmet:

It's a bright colored helmet, that with the press of a button radically changes color. Sold as a way to color match your helmet with an assortment of motorcycles. Of course when the chasing constabulary lose visual continuity and later see a rider of another color....it could get very confusing for them.

Let's go!

My brother lives in Vancouver, and was recently stopped by a cop because she couldn't read his number plate. He must have upset her because now he has to take the bike through some sort of compliance check....the bike is not stock, and he has to fit bits back on he doesn't have.I guess cops can be a bitch or a bastard depending on who you get.

If he was sure she couldn't read his plate he could have just disappeared. She gave him a "notice in order". He needs to find a friendly inspection shop!

Could you not just attach your plate with a hinge, so that at speed, airflow would make it horizontal, while at rest, gravity would return it to the vertical (thereby hiding your attempts at anonimity?)
As far as helmets, I've seen a product advertised called Helmet Skins - making them tear-off shouldn't be too hard, (but maybe expensive - I don't recall what they cost)
The real solution is to ride with somebody else, and DON'T be the last guy in line - the cops, like all predators, pick only the weak amd the lame, and are usually satisfied after one "kill""
