Hi, i am pretty new to the forum so thought i would post a shot of the 1980 RS that i bought recently. It was stripped and repainted in 1994 and has been off the road for the last 10years but i have it all sorted now and will be out on it from the !st October. Looking forward to it.
This is my current Guzzi, a 1997 75th Anniversary Model.
These really are a great bike,so capable with good suspension and brakes and in reality everything that a Hardly Davidson ( or is that Massey Ferguson ) is not!
In a straight A to B race i doubt very much if the RS would have any advantage over this Guzzi.
That said they are what they are and i love them both for that.
Darryl
I'm pretty new here, so this is my bike.

The Beemer looks real good. If you need more mirror, there have been some discussions of that on this forum. Some riders add mirrors from other models or what I've done is to buy mirrors from the later model RS from the dealer. They are very reasonable in price.

Funny you should mention the mirrors. I have only ridden the bike once since buying it and that was to take it for it's MOT ( annual safety check ) and i could not see a thing out of the mirrors, they were worse than useless.
I will try to get a look at some from a later Mono RS and see how they are set up.
Many thanks Darryl

That is a fine-looking bike Darryl. It's really good to see that you got it all together and working .
I especially like the RED spark-plug wires!! Neat touch.
Ride careful, Rubber side down and all that.

Sweet RS –– ride the piss out of it but don't fuck with it ... much ...
Only Goose I've ever owned was a race prepped 78 LM-1.
My favorite in terms of pure enjoyment,
but not up to the task of functional utility.

I know what you mean. I sold this to buy my R100RS. It was a great bike, 2004 with 3k miles on it but just a bit too focussed for my type of riding nowadaysvanzen@rockerboxer.com wrote:Sweet RS –– ride the piss out of it but don't fuck with it ... much ...

Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about that Native.
I was mad before that.
Different sort of mad too.
