Grips. Handlebar.

This is for the discussion of Motorcycling. The art, the science, the theory of all things related to our favorite sport... riding motorcycles.

Grips. Handlebar.

Post by SteveD »

If you've been down to the market place you'd've seen my request for Sunline GranD Touring USA grips.

They're no longer available and are becoming rare to find, and I've not been successful.

I have received some communication from a place in the USA called RVSports. Rob V linked me to them. Linda there has been persistent in trying to find these grips.

Here is the last communication I have from Linda, the result of her asking around the wholesalers and sale reps.
This is a very old grip.
It has been discontinued for a while but the closest is our full grips...
Sunline Dual Compounds
Half-Waffle - $19.95
38-20-002 blk/gry
38-20-004 gry/wht
38-20-006 gum/natural
Double Diamond - $19.95
38-20-001 blk/gry
38-20-003 gry/wht
38-20-005 gum/natural

These are supposedly better. (New Tech)
The Idea of the Grand Touring was comfort over time... TAG’s rebound technology is the new “gotta have” with this in mind.

Tag
Rebound - $15.99
G100-02-00 gry/red
G100-03-00 gry/blu

There is also a low-profile version (LOW-PRO) that does not stay comfortable as long but still a good option.
LO-PRO - $15.99
G200-02-00 gry/red
G200-03-00 gry/blu
G200-05-00 gry/blk

Hope this helps!
Anyone know of these Tag Rebound grips?
edit: I don't think they'd fit in! I wonder if they come in black?

None of those are remotely comparable. None of them are even touring grips.

That's why I wrote "I don't think they'd fit in!"

I ended up buying some Beston grips that have the same shape as the Sunline grips. The Bestons are a UK thing I believe. I haven't received them yet, but will do a report in here once I've tried them out.

I like the wider grips as I find they allow a more relaxed feel at the bars over a longer ride. My right palm has a tendon problem and I find this style much more comfie.

Yeah, the ones you originally wanted are basically the more modern version of the super old style you ended up with. Funny that you can still get the originals, but not "modern" versions have been discontinued.
