Wiring problem

G`day
I`ve lurked long enough so here goes.

Currently doing a ground up on a `73 LWB R75/5. R100 motor, wiring loom, headlight, fuel tank and seat. 5 chassis, forks, rims, brakes 4 speed with a 5 speed diff, digital speedo & tach. Everything bar the electrics has come together well, the loom and headlight are from approx 78 r100. when first connected to the battery the indicators worked tailight, brakelight, and park. No main beam or pass function. Power to the starter relay, ignition switch and light relay.

Whilst looking at the headlight first i touched a live one and blew a fuse, which was replaced. Now there`s no blinkers, park & tailight as soon as the battery is connected, and whilst there is power to the left hand switchgear there is still no light function. The right hand side wiring is a dogs breakfast which I will have to resolder (don`t you love seeing 300 wraps of black tape around a few wires) I dont want to send a sparky on an all paid for european holiday even though most adapt a run away attitude to bike wiring. Iam using the r75 headlight block for the H4 globe, was wondering whether that has some influence in this headscratcher. Any advice/reflection, have you trieds would be much appreciated.

Regards to all

Move this thread up into the post 1970 airheads forum. You'll get many more responses. This section is like the side street on the edge of town! Just cut and paste and start another thread up there.
And welcome! :)
