Yup, I kept expecting to hear that thing light up and roar at the end after the muzak quit ...
Cool vid, though. Thanks for bringing it out, mattcfish !

I loved the music build up too... would have been nice to hear the motor.
Where do you find a set of trashed Krauser heads to rebuild? Only in dreams I suppose.
I noticed something different in the way the PR tubes mount to the block. Can someone explain this?
I can see that the barrels have been shortened considerably.

The K4V heads "bolt right up" to stock barrels & push tubes.
Cyl. studs came with the "kit" and are different
lengths vs stock.
Pushrods, upper lifters, pistons are proprietary items.
This set was originally from Germany – ported & polished w/45mm ex. ports.
(Hence the home-made ex flange nuts)
Still trying to compensate for that missing arm & leg !

I like your shiny nuts.
Back to the video......Look at the way the PR Tubes fit to the block. There is a stud in between them on the block that a flange bolts to.
Also, how do you get PR tubes to align with the block when you shorten the barrels that much? Seems like you would need to machine the barrel and head to increase the angle.

Not sure what is happened there – except to say that this will not be necessary to install K4Vs.
Obviously this is an extreme
NON-stock engine.
I will guess that the engine was short-stroked, crank throw changed, rod length changed, ...
or who knows what ???
Short-stroking doesn't make much sense to me as the heads themselves will be the defining limit of maximum RPM.

It does if it puts you in a smaller displacement class. Then the smaller engine gets the benefit of a lot more breathing.
