What's the Preferred Fuel Line Crossover Method?

I'd like to run tees off my petcocks to have mutual fuel lines to both carbs. I have seen tees and lines run behind the airbox; over the top of starter cover; through starter cover......
Is there a preferred method for running crossovers?

And what would that be?
Not that I'm an expert, but almost every bike I've seen (airhead that is) has it running behind the airbox.

The usual BMW way is to run the crossover fuel line between the lower front of the airbox and the gearbox.

I've always preferred the "X" fittings
as used by Moto Guzzi
but BMW's (as stock) "H" routing
is well suited to the powerplant's geography.

I run mine around the back of the clamshell airbox. It's just easier.

BMW made holes in the airbox just for the fuel lines. By far the most important aspect is to make sure that one has enough fool flow to insure that a low point in the line isn't clogged up.

MY crossover line looks to be made of different material, has no cloth covering. What is used as a replacement?
