Yep, that was my first BMW motorcycle. I bought it for a few hundred $$ and rode it for a couple of years. I rode it from Cleveland where I lived, back home in Kansas. Then on the return trip down through the South. I visited tent city, which was a large group of blacks who dared to try to registered to vote.
They were friendly, but concerned for my safety. A northern white kid visiting them was not safe.
In Arkansas I had a flat tire. I had no spare tube and their were no local motorcycle shops. A farmer commented that it was near the size of a Ford front tire. I hitched to Russellville, AR. and bought a tractor tube. I had to stuff it into the tire and it was all folded up, but it got me back to Cleveland.
At one gas station way up in the mountains, a local got up off his porch swing and ambled over to the bike. After examining it for a few minutes, he commented that he rode one just like it in the war, in his very southern accent. I asked him which side he was on. He laughed and told me that they tried to very carefully shoot the Germans off the bikes without damaging the motorcycles, because they were so much better than the HDs that they were supplied.
