1981 R80 G/S Tried to buy a replacement exhaust valve seat. No longer being produced by BMW, I was told. No longer in stock at Moto-Bins. (they still stock the 1000cc ones)
Luckily , my non official shop had one left in his stock, so I am going to be OK
How have people dealt with this recently? Know a source or do you find a machine shop to make one from scratch?
I can't be the only one to need to refurbish an R80 head. I mean it is only a thirty-three year old bike, just getting into its prime!

Ted Porter? Tom Cutter? Where do they get them...they must be available.

Thanks, I like that Swiss site.
Sorry , I was looking at your answer and thought you had given me
https://www.bmwbike.com/index.php
then I got back and found you mentioning Max BMW.
Guess it depends on how much stock each place actually has. When I queried Moto-Bins, they had removed it from their catalog and claimed they couldn't get any more. My shop had contacted the local BMW dealer and they claimed no longer available.

More demand. People are now doing no cost barred restorations on those older bikes, not so much on R80s. Most often R80s get upgraded with R100 parts as originality isn't as big a deal......... yet.
