Any one know a trick for removing gasket material?

On aluminum I use the spray chemical remover.

And I use laminate countertop samples such as Arborite for scrapers.

Thanks for all the advice. I found a product at Auto Zone: Permatex Gasket Sealant Remover that really helped. It has a little brush on the end of a spray can that makes it easy to put the stuff only where you want it and it works pretty well.

Loctite sells an aerosol gasket remover that works very well, just give it time to dissolve the adhesive.
Don't scrap and gouge the metal, let the gasket remover do it's work.
