77 R100s Clock Quit

After 33 years my clock quit. It stripped a gear from the looks of it. I know I could have it rebuilt but I'm more interested in cheaper or other options. I'll box this one up and put it away if I can come up with an alternative.

What have you guys used to replace your clocks or do you just leave it in the dash inop?

Thanks!

I have a similar problem on my RS and am to cheep to have it fixed. I found OEM units on ebay but were also pricey. I did find suitable replacements when searching marine applications. D*#n if I can remember the manufacturers name though.

Nathan's swap meet is THIS weekend, Nov 6.
Blue Moon 9Norcross) is next weekend, Nov 13.
Maybe you can get a salvage clock at one of these.

Can the clocks be maintained to avoid failure? :)

Keep the valves set and change the oil regularly.

Sooo, would you run dyno or synthetic oil in your clock. Can you get REAL synthetic oil for your clock anymore? :?

I don't know if this company makes clocks, but when the voltmeter failed in our R100RS (really a dressed S) I found a good replacement that WORKS, from EQUUS. at an auto part shop. It was about $18, and fit the hole in the dash nicely. Looks good too.
You might try for something like that.
Unless you have a burr in your britches about this "original" stuff....
