Thinking of branching out.

The R100RS is nearing 250K kms and I want to keep it long term. Rego and insurance is up around $900. I use it too much to qualify for the much cheaper club plates rego. I'm thinking of reducing it's annual use.

So the question arises. What options to look at? I have an excellent independent BMW bike shop close by and would prefer to stick to the brand.
My thoughts, newest to oldest:

09 F800GT with panniers, history. $6500 "make an offer". 65K kms. Not far from Grants place, 90 minutes away.
Night Blue, 65,000km, mostly highway kms. ABS , Trip computer, Tyre Pressure Monitors, LED indicators, heated grips. BMW Sports Panniers, Hepco & Becker 51L top box, Nelson Rigg tank bag. Belt drive, no oily chain to worry about, new drive belt installed at 60K km service. Always serviced by BMW dealers, Great economical (ave 4.1L/100km) all-round road bike that easily handles 2-up touring. Choice of standard or low seats. Private sale.

05 K1200S...$6995 with 80K km on it. For sale 10 minutes away. BMW K1200S 2005 MODEL
Excellent condition, still rides as new, with ABS. Second hand dealer.

05 R1200ST...passed in at $6K, 30 minutes away. Righto, BMW lovers, if you have not yet owned and ridden an R1200ST sports tourer then this is your big chance.
with only 52k on the clock, in excellent running order, good rego, tyres, raised handlebars and a large screen.
If you are a tourer there is also a set of panniers and topcase included. Vic RWC will be provided.
I love riding this bike. But I have 3 BMs and this one gets the sacrificial short straw.
Life is short, and there are so many bikes to own. Bid. Private sale. Unknown reserve.

05 K1200R...$10K and history. "Make an offer". "up for sale is my BMW K 1200 R with 8,159 Km. its recently been serviced and all recalls have been seen to. its a fantastic bike to ride great handling and plenty of power when needed. Its never been dropped or been in an accident, and is in showroom condition.
Bike will be sold with a road worthy certificate as well. Private sale.

81 R100RS flying blood clot. $7500, 95K km. 900kms away. Can't inspect it, fly in, ride home verses $400 transport, then pick up/trailer hire etc. Private sale.

So the current R100RS would see club plates. The replacement would commute and do the occasional weekender. It would become the most "go to" bike.

I did have thoughts of a R1200S but saw one in action on Sunday and the riding position wouldn't do me any favours. A very late R1100S would be another option.

I had put on about 200k miles on the /7 and RS when I picked up a good deal on a '93 K1100RS. Holy shit, the power, fuel injection, ABS brakes. I may go further into the dark side with a '04 R1150RT or the like some time soon. Life is short so grab all the beemers you can; so they say.

One of the above sellers uses a similar line. :P

The K brick is off my list despite their more recent offerings. Seeing as the K100 I once owned had 22-26 (can't remember and don't particularly want to either) warranty claims in 6 months, the memory still hurts.

A K1100RS or K1200RS would be the model if I was heading down that route. They ask < $5K for 'em here.

The F800GT didn't sell today and the K1200R finishes soon. I have the phone number of the bloke selling the 1200ST.

The F800GT appeals to me Steve!!

I saw one in Tassie and thought it looked like just the thing.

Yeah, the local bike shop has one as a loaner and it goes plenty, stops well and handles well.
I'd prefer one with less than 65K kms though. Also, a mate hired one for one of our weekender rides and he loved it.

The K1200R ($10K/offers) & R1200ST ($8450) are over my budget.

There's a 76K km '03 R1100S for around $7660. It'd need a few hundred spent getting the bright yellow wheels powder coated though! Still too much. :(

Are you sure that is actually a F800 GT Steve ? Even with those kms $6500 is a steal.
For an ST it would be about right.

An R1100S would be bloody good thing too. They come up on the market all the time but most have now clocked over
