Simple gearbox questions

I feel silly asking this but I cannot find the answers!

Having done my rear seal and new clutch I've managed to drain a bit of oil from my gear box not a huge amount but some so I've decided to do a change of oil on the box.... here's the question how do I do this? I can find the drain bung no probs but where do I fill from?

Also

Some oil drained out of the drive shaft housing is this a "spill over" from the box or is there supposed to be oil in it?

Cheers

What kind of bike is it? I am impressed you can change the seal and clutch but cant find the fill plug.

Not a R65 trannie, but it's that big bolt adjacent to the gearchange lever.
About 750-800mls.

100mls in the shaft is fine.

Cheers Steve

I've had the gear box in and out that many times (long story but too thick clutch plate) and never noticed that bung

PAS the seal and clutch are easy you just keep undoing things untill it's in a million pieces and then reassemble and there's gotta be at least 3 youtube videos on doing that but no videos on gearbox oil change ! And I don't have a Haynes book of lies destruction manual to point UT the obvious

Bfr, You still havent said what kind of bike your working on. As far as the Haynes manual goes, I have one plus a Chiltons and I even have the BMW service manual. All of them have information that is incorrect in some manner. Same goes for the internet. There is good advice and bad advice out there. These bikes as a rule are easy to work on. You will be fine.
