Right side foot peg

New owner of 1972 R75/5 having trouble getting my right leg and foot comfortable. Hard to fully depress brake pedal, shin is banging up against carb. I fooled around with different settings but still find it awkward. Was wondering if anyone had a work around for this such as moving the peg outward or moving both the peg and the foot brake pedal outward, or simply putting in a longer peg than the stock one on the bike? Any ideas?

Rearsets. Work well with euro bars.

Are you sure that you have the stock foot pegs?

I'd get another left foot.

These are the stock. The longer one is the right side.
They can be switched which would make it difficult to depress the brake.

thank you, yes the pegs are stock, the left is fine, but the right is still a problem, I'd move it outward but using a spacer wouldn't have any teeth to hold it. I am not unusually large footed, 10 1/2 shoe size but can't seem to avoid banging up my shin.

Have you looked at the brake arm, It's possible that it's a little bit to high. When I first got my R80RT
the rear brake arm was in the wrong position. The brake light switch stop was also fooled with.
Just two more things to think about. Best of luck.

Thanks for the advice I am still fooling with it. The foot peg itself was right on top of the exhaust pipe, had a nice little curved melt on the underside of the rubber, so I adjusted it upward but it didn't help. I will mess with the brake pedal Sunday when I have some time. Maybe the brake pedal itself isn't stock and is too long? I don't know, this is my first BMW, but it sure is a great ride. I am looking for a the next meet or show in southern California so I can "meet the family."
