Re: Getting My '83 R100RT Up On Center Stand Difficult
well i sold my '83 R100RT so the center stand issue is on to the next owner - my new to me 1995 R100RT center stand works so easily - pressure from your foot and a simple slight lift gets it on the center stand with ease. improvements to the final 1995 model year make cruising a pleasure - hardly an...

again, thx for all the input - have a BMW mechanic coming to my house to go thru the carbs. he also mentioned that he has changed out the jets in the later models and removed the emissions stuff on these later bikes.

Re: Getting My '83 R100RT Up On Center Stand Difficult
Having owned several airheads, I agree that getting the bike up on the center stand should be easy. It is obvious when looking now(and comparing to the photos posted) that the center stand on my 83 R100RT is worn out. I have a side stand which I use but I like having the bike on it's center stand. M...

Getting My '83 R100RT Up On Center Stand Difficult
All,
It takes a lot of effort getting my 83 R100RT up on it's center stand. All of my strength to get it to raise up to the point it sits back on the center stand.
Anyone else have this issue? Assume it has something to do with mechanism being worn? Any pointers to remedy??
Thx in advance!
