I had similar issues many years back, took a few years to discover the problem but you could look at the crimp lugs on the main
battery cables. They become a high resistance connection/open circuit, could be both ends.

My 85 Mono has the fuse box under the rear of tank,
lift seat and remove tool tray then you will find it.

G'day Steve, Well there are a lot of free camping areas on the river, some are looked after by the fishing club and thus have funds for amenities, long drop, covered table, water tank even firewood at the one Ali & I stayed at. They'll be a bit damp, boggy just now though after those floods last...
