Re: Flat to round air filter conversion

Hi All, Thanks for all the responses. To sum up the conclusions I have drawn so far: - Flat to round filer is no problem - may require a bit of filing to accommodate breather arrangement. Carb adjustment, jets/needles may not be an issue, at least with an OEM paper filter. - As foreseen the K&N-...

Flat to round air filter conversion

Hello All, I'm planning to convert my '81 RS from flat to round filter configuration - basically for cosmetic reasons (sad, I know...) I have procured an airbox with the 2 x 10 (edit: make that 12) holes at the back - and the appropriate starter cover. The bike is fitted with 40 mm Bings - and my qu...

Re: 81 RS instrument housing

I have recently bought an instrument housing from James Sherlock. Check out: http://www.james-sherlock.co.uk/compone ... ory_id=657
If the type shown is not what you need they may have it anyway - just send them an e-mail.

Re: Odyssey Install

Assuming that the battery tray is identical to an '80 RS, there should be no problems. In my case the battery cables could bend enough to allow connection without adapter. It's quite a bit smaller than the original, so mine is secured with a few large zip-ties.

Re: Rear Brake 1981 R100RT

I have more or less the same problem. I replaced the caliper pistons, seals etc and the entire master cylinder as the intake nipple looked suspect - and fitted a new braided soft brake line. I had some result with repositioning the caliper to get the bleed nipple as the high point - but I am not rea...

Re: Toaster Tan Top Brace => 1988 R100RT

I also got one of Toaster Tan's/Stephen's braces from the last (so far) batch. Looks great - can't wait to install it on my '81 RS.
