Re: R1100GS Oil idiot light
So my thoughts on this were could there have been some sort of short due to the amount of water the bike had seen on the day? Craig Yes. I would expect that this will all clear up when the bike has been dry for a while, and gone through a full heat cycle or two. If it doesn't, THEN it's time to sta...

Re: one of those days
Failing all of the above, if you want to go for option C, I have a nice on/off/kill switch off an old XL250 (its a seperate handlebar switch) you can have for the $6.60 500g postage envelope.

R1100GS Oil idiot light
OK, went for a ride today on my 1998 R1100GS. I had 3 creeks to cross both ways. After I got back on the road, I hit a horrendous rain storm. What I then noticed was that the oil light on my dash was glowing ever so slightly and the temp guage on the dash had gone down to 3 bars. Now I know there wa...

Re: New guy intro
With the master cylinder, cant you source one from a bike that has dual front breaks. Ive been trying to get one for my R65 so I can run a dual disc like the LS, but they are like hens teeth over here. And that aslo includes the right side caliper. As for the forks being too high. Cant you just drop...

Re: New guy intro
Love the speedo. Wouldnt mind something like that on my R65. As for adding a 3/4 fairing. My thoughts are NOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. it will clutter up the front of the bike. But dont take my word for it as Im bias.

Re: R75/5 porn
What about fixing a bar/whatever from the centre of the upright section of the rack, to the bike's grabrail, would that add enough support strength to make it safe to carry,.. say a small tent ? That is a excellent fix. And to make it asteticly pleasing, use a peice of polished stainless tubing. un...

Re: The "what have you done to your R65?" thread.
Yes well my R65 has dont 148,000km`s (92,000 miles) although on inspection 2 years ago all valves were seating nicely I was told, but Im sure it could stand a freshening. I assume if I have them done it would be wise to have the unleaded update so to speak done? It seems to run fine on the unleaded.
