24mm carb needed

My son just bought a non matching number barnfind /2. The frame and running gear are 1966 R50/2. The motor is an R50 mfg. between 1955 and 1960. The carbs are mismatched. There is a 24mm carb on one side and a 26mm carb on the other. The correct carbs are 1/24/131, 132. I'm waiting for him to let me...

85 K100 forks to R90/6

I am hacking my K100, so have no use for the stock forks. I have an R90/6 with the single disc ATE brake. I have the stock brake working as good as it has ever worked, maybe better. My K100 has (done by previous owner) dual floating discs and dual six pot ISR calipers. I would like to have those on ...

Re: New old K

I have an 85 K100RS. Just routine driving around/commuting, I get 40+. On the road at 75-80, I get 50 mpg. I have done nothing to the bike since I bought it except put gas and oil in it.

what tanks fit what?

I have an R90/6. I'm looking for a project tank, but am confused by what model tanks fit what model bikes. Will a /7 tank fit a /6? If not, what model tanks do I look for?

Thanks,

Mike

under tank m.c. rebuild

My son has a 76 R90/6 with the single disc ATE front brake. Since he got it, nice hard lever, but not stop. Just to recap, bike has 21,000 original miles. Suspect original brake pads and fluid. Replaced the pads and flushed the system with new DOT4 brake fluid. WOW. It now had a front brake. The pro...

Re: Modifying a BMW engine to drop into a Dnepr or Ural

Matt, Just a piece of advice. Do not rely on the transmission mounting holes to center the transmission input shaft to the center of the crankshaft. I use a centering ring that fits over the alignment tabs on the transmission and locates the transmission to the inside of the BMW bellhousing. Another...
