Re: Slinger service...... I win!

rdnhaz, NH isn't that far away from maine. heck, we are neighbors! i'll probably have the tools through spring. if you like, yank your engine, bring it to portland, and strip it at our shop. now that i've done it twice, i'd be glad to walk you through it. i'd loan you the set if it was mine to loan....

small end bush replacement... how tricky...?

happy new year to all. so how tricky is it to replace the small end bushes in the connecting rods? i didn't even find the procedure listed in my manual. in my triumph manual, a draw bolt method is outlined, using the new bush, to push out the old. or... should i just let a machine shop handle this? ...

Re: Slinger service...... I win!

well.... truth be told, i THINK we dodged some bullets, as in i've run this engine for 10 years, and it has not blown up. i should have done this then, but was young and dumb(ER). of course you are right, when it comes to lack of evidence... but being on a feeble budget, I'm planning on cleaning the...

Slinger service...... I win!

cranky.jpg Update to those interested.... Ripped down 2 /2's this weekend! I've been fearful of my lack of skills in this arena.... but read up on the procedure, was kindly loaned the Ed Korn tool set, and both engines went very smooth! '61 R50 & my '64 R60... (figured we would get two birds st...

R60, Isetta, are the generators interchangeable?

Just in case i eff up my generator upon removal, i have a friend who has a spare parts motor,
for his 600cc isetta.
do they by chance share the same generator?

i know it is an oddball question, but i'm guessing one of you might know the answer.
thanks always, nhoj

Re: hello all, been a few years but i'm back. generator remo

Thanks duane, i was thinking about doing just that. I've popped off 3 or 4 with this method, then on my own bike I screw the pooch. On a side note, tiz, good to correspond with you, (and all the rest of all of you), after a few years. I shall try to catch all of you up on the doings in Portland. 2 y...
