Re: Sad news....long time forum poster Ken Clevenger passed away

I'm really sad about this and will never stop missing Ken. He was one heluva lovable person and a true friend. The good times and wonderful people I met because of his generous spirit will be with me always.

If you or somebody you know have classic British bikes, bring 'em down to Atlanta for this event!

Picture-gallery from the trip. A few here and there are out of order but you'll get the general idea.

Going to the 2024 BMW MOA National Rally?

Ridin' To Redmond! Who's going and which way are you getting there? I'm leaving the Atlanta area June 7 and will just follow GPS for the quickest route most of the way up, have a little fun in the NW region along the way if time allows. Re: R1200RT - a worthwhile purchase?

I don't think you'll find it too enormously different to an R1150. Same basic engineering philosophies, just a little more evolved. I've had both generations of the R1200 engine in GSes and both are great, though I like the 2010-on version better for its slightly higher performance. Maintenance is e...

+1 For the sidestand switch, especially if the bike doesn't jerk forward before it dies.

Re: Got Me A New Cheap Tent

Cheep tent? Can't get cheeper than FREE! Sometime back around 2012 I was fueling-up a company van somewhere along an Interstate when I saw something leaned against the next pump. It was a tent, mostly stuffed back into it carrying case, looking like it had been used maybe once. I'd guessed that it f...

Re: Engine guards for R1150R

+1 On the plastic guards.

Welcome Simon, and congrats on the bike! Post some pics of it please. I always liked the looks of the 1150R. Got to ride one once for about 30 miles; seemed light-years ahead of the airhead I was riding at the time.
