Slowly getting this 78 back to its former days of looking like a lovely RS again with this "when I brought it" picture all stripped down and naked and then the "as it sat yesterday" picture on the bike lift in the shed after I finished off the headlight bucket and internal wires, positioned the front end loom and handle bar wiring into their proper spots, installed and bolted up, hopefully for the last time the front fairing and middle lower section round the forks and then played around with the rear pannier racks a little more to get then just right. The overhauled starter motor should be here on Tuesday and then I can make some noise again over Christmas and maybe even a lap or two around the block Cheers

Looking gorgeous, Grant.
Yep, take it out on the street on the morning of christmas day, but watch out for all the other kids with new bikes.

Re: Got Me One
Awesome job your doing of it Grant.
IMHO -
I think that bike is screaming for an "S" fairing.
And a tank bag instead of the boxes.
But that's just me.

The rest of it I just wasted.

The bar is the first thing packed Rob. Followed by spare alcohol. For the stove.Rob wrote: Like a bar and a phone?
Although I periodically forget I bought a gas stove 10 years ago.
Then the chair. Good chair's a must, late at night at a campfire. A transportaion veehickle. Take you anywhere you want to go.
I'm still working on a 'chair on rails' that will propel me through the air and into my tent, after coming to an abrupt halt at the end of the line.

Gidday,
Jeff the part arrived safely and bang on time thanks to Aust Post, plus it is now doing its job on the bike as expected mate.
I tried to call you Christmas eve for a cheer and chat but I suppose you were up to the armpits mixing and stirring up your traditional batch of Egg Nog out the back over a nice glowing fire using a 44 gallon drum and dinghy oar.
Chat soon mate and thanks once again

Re: Got Me One
Gidday,
Well my starter motor did not make it back from the auto electrician before Christmas as planned which is a bugger so I did not get to ride around and up and down the street with the other little kiddies and their new bikes on Chrissy morning as I had so much hoped to do, photos next year Charlie
So yes it remains up on the lift until the 5th of Jan when the auto electric gets back for his holidays and I certainly gave him a bloody mouthful with his slack attitude has it was promised to be done so that I could spend my holidays getting this on the road..
Anyways Dougie here is a pix for you mate - with tank bag fitted!!
With that on the lift I dragged the 'K' out of the shed yesterday morning, checked the oil and hit the stater button and had a lovely 390 km ride in and around all the bloody Christmas traffic up to the lovely little seaside town of Paynesville to see a mate and his wife on their boat moored at the Marina, where lunch and one beer was consumed and then I headed back home... A faultless smooth trip it was.
I hope everyone has and is having a lovely Christmas time... Enjoy!!
