In the process of rebuilding my R75 I was looking at replacing the handlebars as they a in pretty bad shape chrome wise.
They have Magura L452 stamped on the left side. Are these original to this year or something that someone has just put on ? I'd like to get them rechromed as they are very heavy duty and I like the shape. I can get them done locally for 75-90 bucks. Are they worth it?
Thanks, Ron

You couldn't replace them with new for less than that, so if you like the bars, go for it.
edit: just make sure the final diameter on the perch area is close to 22mm when it is done.
Have you ever tried "S" or "Euro" bars? They give the bike an entirely different feel.

I have been rebuilding this bike for years, it was in pieces when I bought it, so as far as other bars haven't even thought about that. At this point I am finally getting close to having it together. (the bike, not me).Rob wrote:You couldn't replace them with new for less than that, so if you like the bars, go for it.

Ron, any bar marked Magura isn't original, but an aftermarket accessory. You must end up with 22 mm, not more or you will break that castings.
Ask the Indians what happens when you don't control immigration.

Thanks Duane, I knew you'd have the answer for that. I have looked at some other aftermarket stuff and thinking they may not be the 22mm I needed. thats real good to know.

Regards the Flanders bars, they are made with very heavy gauge tubing, so the ID won't allow the use of bar end mirrors without some modification. Or so I've been told...
Re: 71 R75/5 handlebars
Rob, I actually have a Flanders fairing that came with the bike. pretty much all I know about them, I'll check that siteRob wrote:Hey Ron,
