I just might take your advice, though-- it would justify running without the lowers for a while. I never thought it would look good as it does without them.
I had a little engine work done recently and needed the lowers removed. Summer is coming, so for the moment I've left them off.
The cost seems to be an increase in noise (unsubstantiated, though when they go back on I'll test the dB's without, then with) and they're expectedly clearly cooler.

Timed it-- tried to-- with a Snap On timing light today & all was completely unintelligible when I tried to set it for 3000 RPM. It backfires when I close the throttle, so I know something ain't right, but after two months on the lift, I'm gonna have to live with it for a bit.

Too many years since I worked with these olde fashioned ignition systems.

Risky--you've got to keep track of BTDC and ATDC and whether something has risen in the window or not.

I deal with a lot of stoned people here, and it's best not to make them do math.
Call me Mel. Some years ago- never mind how long precisely- having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me at home, I thought I would ride about a little and see the other parts of the world.
