My deck is bigger than my shop and my shop is bigger than my house. One must establish these priorities up front. After all, I built the house working out of the shop.

Yes! No use for a deck here though, with 9 months of rain per year. A porch would be nice but when I want to hang out I sit under the carport. Which is attached to the shop.

Why do you hang your deck out under the carport? We here in Oz do that under the lemon tree!

Just playing with a new plasma cutter in my shed. Wait, does a 1000 sq. ft. basement count as a shed? It must, that's where my '83 r80 lives. All it wants is fluid changes, brakes and tires. Boringly reliable. The bad part about this shed is that it's only out of earshot when the dehumidifier, air compressor or stereo are cranked up. Yes dear, I heard you--not.

Today in the garage, (aka Shed) I installed a new set of coils to my BMW. These are nice Bosch replacements, they are the same diameter as originals, but just a bit longer. Bosch part # 0221124001. Bike must like them, just touched the starter and she roared to life. Nice day, guess I will go for a ride just to see if they work.

Bike must like them, just touched the starter and she roared to life. Nice day, guess I will go for a ride just to see if they work.

jagarra, they might be the same size but I think they're heavier. The flimsy bracket can break if they're not otherwise supported, eg with a cable tie or something similar.

My coils are supported with cable ties because the lh mount broke off the frame. Instant lights out when the bracket breaks and takes the ground with it.
Solution, mount ground to rh coil bracket and continue down the road.

Thanks for the heads up on the coil weight. I will put a tie strap or hose clamp around it. Of course, I just filled the tank.

For me it wasn't instant. The Tachometer bouncing around and pegging out was the first symptom. The headlight going on and off with the handlebar position was the second, followed by horn failure along with everything else. Multiple system failures led me to checking the grounds and I found the problem and used the same fix you did.

Today in the shop I attempted to bleed and fill the trim on my outboard motor. After much cursing and straining, I managed to drop it all the way down where is is stuck. There is a release on the hydraulics, which was open when I dropped it. The motor weighs slightly more than my R90. I think I need to draft some more muscle.

Replaced the /6 rear wheel on my '72 R75/5 with a correct /5 wheel with chrome hubcap. While in there, swapped out leaking rear drive for rebuilt with new splines from Hansen's BMW in Oregon. Also fixed weakly blinking rear turn signals; ground wire in taillight had come loose.
