This is for the discussion of Motorcycling. The art, the science, the theory of all things related to our favorite sport... riding motorcycles.

Ha, now if I had paid more attention to composing that pic - adjusting the angle just slightly - Mick would have been perfectly placed in Brother Ken's cup.

I think my eyes looked like piss-holes in the snow that day as well. I think it was a good day.

Google is confused.
Is "Island Bend" at the Pondage or the fire trail or both?

Gidday,

Mal I'm not sure, have been looking myself at the maps as I am interested in riding up for the night myself, 600kms from home going Cann River, Bombala, Dalgety and into the site, weather permitting of course and all the stars line up correctly on the home front..
No doubt it would be marked with temp pointer signs consisting of beer cartoons written in tomato sauce.

That will work, Grant.

Now, lets look at the map in Mal's link.
You will see the pondage and series of tracks. If we look at the left end of the pondage, which is the west, uptream end, you will notice the track there is shown to have a semi circular dead end.
That's the camp site.

Let me know if clearer directions are needed.

The mess of tracks is the result of a workers villiage that was there during the construction of the Snowy Hydro scheme.

With the google map link and street view, I can go to the campsite. Amazing.

Edit, the camp site is right next to the river.

Hey you be right jeff that is amazing. The google-car must have been goofing off that day, they never get down tracks like that.
