Forecast from BOM for Jindabyne predicts friday19 sat18 sun17
A shower or two.
At least it doesn't say rain, but I'd expect overcast.
Odd weather for this time of year, but nothing a good camp fire won't fix.
Biggest decision for me regarding the weather, is beer or whisky or wine, or play it safe and take all three?

Jeff, do you get supplies @ Jindabyne or @ the pub not far from the turn off? I'm unsure if they sell from there? They have a bar so over the counter sales I expect.
Cheers, Steve

Woolworths, Jindabyne.
10 paces away from Woolworths, is the grog shop.
We'll most likely have lunch there too.
Woolworths is in the main shopping centre, just google 'woolworths Jindabyne' and google maps will show exactly where it is.
Here's the map again with the exact location of the camp site.
It will pay to print the map of the roads in the immediate area of the Island Bend site, as you can see it's a bit of a rabbit warren due to the roads left over from the former works camp.
For Grant and Steve heading north from Cann River........ the 'Snowy River Way' between Ando and Dalgety, is now fully sealed. It's a top road! There is no dirt left.

Saturday for me, Mal.Mal S7 wrote:Lunch at Jindabyne on the Friday or the Saturday Jeff?
I think Malcom will be there friday as well. Not sure of other Friday takers at this stage?
Be prepared for a cool night, possibly maybe wet, and all will be well.

Hmm, for Friday the Norwegians are predicting 25mm rain for Albury, 20mm for Corryong and 2mm for Jindabyne. Dry for the rest of the weekend.
I reckon I'll be going up the hill on Saturday.
Edit: ... and I'll bring a couple of tarps.

Might be a wet one chaps, but what the hell. We're brave motorcyclists, aren't we!
An extra tarp is a good idea.

Nah, I'm gunna bail out, I just saw the (1600hrs) weekend forecast on Willy Weather, Bom & Weatherzone and will give them the benefit of the doubt.ME 109 wrote:Might be a wet one chaps, but what the hell. We're brave motorcyclists, aren't we!

I'm all packed if that's any consideration, and have just finished a new table top for my milk crate, next time.
I could still come up on Saturday, I'll check it out.
& besides I don't want to get my instrument wet
cheers Malcom

No problem Mal. Probably very sensible. I'm still in. It'll be a good test of the wet weather gear and wet weather camping. After all, we inlanders have to go out of our way to ride in the wet. I may go tomorrow (Friday) if things line up properly, and I'll set up tarps. The Corryong to Thredbo leg looks to be the wettest section of the ride. I'm sure it will be very pretty in the rain.
Pete will be in Wodonga tomorrow night and will be looking to hook up with Jeff to ride up on Saturday. Me too, if tomorrow doesn't work out.
