Local mechanic needed

Post by Patdabin »

I live in Cleveland Ohio 44124. I have a 1975 R90/6. I am looking for someone local that can help me out with my bike. I'd like to take the motor and Trans out to have them checked out and have the gaskets replaced and piston rings installed. Does anyone have any ideas or am I up shots Creek? Thank you

As a former BMW mechanic, 100 years ago, do not remove the engine and transmission. Why would you want to do that?

Just give a mechanic the whole bike.

Why do you think that the rings need to be replaced?

If you can remove the motor and trans to take them to a mechanic, you can change the rings yourself. It's not that difficult. And doesn't require removing the motor or trans.

Steve, almost anyone can remove the engine and trans. Putting them back in and making them run makes one capable of changing rings.

I am still looking for answers to my questions.
