Couldn't that be a supercharger of some kind? Fuel injection at least - possibly with injectors much closer to the head.
Anyway - sure you should!

I like the panel fine. It looks home made but for me it fits. As far as the lines of the bike, I really really really do not like the rear plates where the axle goes through.Major Softie wrote:And, btw, that little panel is the only thing I don't like on the bike. If that panel had been pounded out of aluminum, wit soft corners that blended with the engine cases, I would have found that much more satisfying. As it is, it's the only thing on the bike that looks like an afterthought, and a compromise.jagarra wrote:There is that fabricated panel below the tranny, if you blow it up you can see what looks like a ignition switch there, maybe a tiny battery next to it.

No, it's a Weber DCOE side draft carburetor.bbelk wrote:Couldn't that be a supercharger of some kind? Fuel injection at least - possibly with injectors much closer to the head.

Call me Mel. Some years ago- never mind how long precisely- having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me at home, I thought I would ride about a little and see the other parts of the world.
Re: Just because you can...
I thought it looked like a DCOE but a supercharger would have been nicer. I wonder why superchargers are not used more often on bikes as they work great on cars. There was a BMW boxer race bike with a supercharger way back.bbelk wrote:Couldn't that be a supercharger of some kind? Fuel injection at least - possibly with injectors much closer to the head.

They did a neat job of bolting the kompressor on the front of the engine. Simple; driven straight off the crank and no synch problems with the single carb.
I have a Kompressor on my my car. You can't see it, which is a shame but it's in there somewhere.
Nice word Kompressor
