Gidday Fellas.

My offer to you wet travelers, take it or leave it, I will not be offended.

You are all welcome to come and stay at my signshop in soggy downtown Trafalgar on the Saturday afternoon/night, roll out the sways and stay. I have a lovely potbelly woodfire with plenty of dry wood that will be roaring hot when you arrive, there is a toilet, small fridge, running water, tea/coffee making facilities and I will drag over the big BBQ.. there will be music and a flashing light show (dodgy fluro tube in the office).
Meat will be supplied and their is a bottle shop and supermarket across the train tracks (you can see the pub from the signshop) but I will supply and few snacks and things.
It is a 60ft x 30ft shed, so the bikes are locked up the end and festivities down the other.

Ok so the only drawback is that I have to be gone by 11am, as I have a show to get to in Melbourne with my wife in the early afternoon of the Sunday.

Chat about it and if you wish to wander down this way that would be great.. Cheers
Cheers, Grant

That's very hospitable of you grant. What sort of nipples are you talking about?

Looks like I'm up shit creek for that weekend now, my usual employer is crying for me to go help install an industrial bridge. Two week project.
Who knows, I might get the sack and be able to make it after all.

Mal, it's exactly that sort of thing that is giving motorcyclists a good name. Definitely a slippery slope.

Grant, that is a kind offer but you know it just wouldn't be the same. We'd all have to find some mud to slop around in and leave the door to the pot belly open to get a proper smoke flavour into the hair and clothing, etc. I'd probably spend the weekend hacking into your vinyl cutting machine so I could redecorate your shed with rude signs.

Ok, I've been following the long term forecasts for all the nice places I know that involve twisty roads and pleasant vistas. It's not looking all that good for next weekend but may change for the good during the week. Give it another couple of days, maybe. I don't mind a bit of wet riding but general rain isn't much fun.

I can provide adequate shelter with tarps. Pete and I spent 3 days/nights under a tarp at Staceys Bridge recently and managed to retain our dignity.

For me, some assembly is required. Brunhilde is getting new steering head bearings and her new /5 face.

I'd better push on. Let's see how the weather pans out. We can always re-schedule, choose another venue or abandon ship.

It's looking like we need a list of contingencies.

Thanks for the generous offer Grant, a blend of camping and pubbing without the tenting and the fees! If we don't do it this time then can we bank it for the future?

Sundays forecast is for rain from just after midnight for most of the day.
School hols seems to have the hotels almost fully covered.
The http://thedargohotel.com.au/ is booked out, the http://www.blueduckinn.com.au/ has a room for 4 @ $75 each :o, not much in Omeo, http://albionhotelswiftscreek.com.au/accomodation/ haven't got back to me and the Little River Inn in Ensay has a room for 4, last one. edited...booked thanks Mal.

Charlie, I'm presuming Brun will be ready and raring to go, but just in case, is a local Jingellic or Tintaldra alternative worth considering?

Yep booked! Two twin share rooms at $40 a head. At least this is someplace new to check out.

Hey Grant, that was a great offer to make use of your pot belly and all. 979kms from home though is too far for me.

cheers

Thanks Mal. $40 is better than $75. There's also this option...http://littleriverinn.com.au/proddetail ... camp-sites
Grant, I'll drop by on the way thru...
Pete, let me know which direction and timing if thru Gippsland.

Ensay, yep, sounds good. I'm in.

And Pete, the weather beyond the weekend is looking pretty good. If you're up for it we could travel north somewhat with Mal and perhaps do some more days on the road. Pack your tent, etc, if that is a likelihood.
