This is for the discussion of Motorcycling. The art, the science, the theory of all things related to our favorite sport... riding motorcycles.

Y'all made it thru in the nick of time...5 kms out of Khancoban.
ROAD CLOSURE: Alpine Way
The Alpine Way is now closed between Khancoban and Tom Groggin until further notice.
That reduces the options for an early summer ride & takes Geehi out of the picture.
Kosciuszko Rally scheduled @ Geehi this weekend too!

There's still heaps of road left! Talk about fussy.
Charlie, Pete and mesself rode past there last week.

They will need to throw in lots of sticks and bottles to fix that!
I got waylaid by domestic duties and now back on the road for work. The weather is too good to be at work. More later.

Yeah, but Jeff, can you ride that log with a Melbourne Bitter balanced on either end?
I'm presuming the road wasn't collapsed when you guys came thru?
Apparently the Cabramurra Link road is still closed for seasonal reasons. D'ya know when that usually opens?

That road is glued to the side of the mountain with mud. Bits of it keep falling off.
The Cabramurra road will open when the snow melts or they manage to get the clunky old scraper going.
This pic was taken on 29 September 2013 at the Cabramurra hut.
The road should probably have been closed then but I'm glad it wasn't.

Only if they're empty. Too much of a distraction otherwise.

Snowy Council has advised the landslip should be cleared and road re-opened to light vehicles later this week.
Snow is subject to the rally weather spirits and chagrin of resort operators. The Alpine Way west of Thredbo is currently closed by snow and gates locked at Tom Groggin (see above), but hoped to re-open before the weekend, even if snow is on the verges.

I rode through heavy cold rain at Cooma and wound up having a rather surreal night at Boorowa. I will tell you about it when I'm over my exhaustion and PTSD.

Well Mal, it's Friday night, and time to tell the story about your "surreal night" at Boorowa. Hopefully it didn't involve Karaoke. Or sports fans dressed in Malaysian flag budgie smugglers chanting "Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi" (death's too good for that lot). Perhaps it was a Young Nationals Labour Day celebration with Barnaby as keynote speaker. Yeah, that'll be it ...
