Take airhead to Europe?

This is for the discussion of Motorcycling. The art, the science, the theory of all things related to our favorite sport... riding motorcycles.

I always brake in corners and think how I am going to get home if I really mess up. When I get home, I wished that I hadn't used my brakes and should have ridden a bit further.

Re: Embedding Videos

Great ride report so far Ted!

You're right, we should be able to embed videos in posts. So I did some Googling.

Turns out it is possible to embed videos in the forum, by adding additional "BBCodes". So I have now added one that allows Youtube videos to be embedded in posts. When creating a post click the "youtube" button then put the last part of the video url between the youtube tags.

For example:

If the url from Youtube is https://youtu.be/WNCRBsP885w

You take just the last part of the above url (everything after the final slash) and put it between the youtube tags

Code: Select all

Which gives you the embedded video:

there were many of passes for the Alps are closed for the next few weeks. Stelvio and Furka will have to take another time... maybe next summer.

The next several posts are embarrassingly over the top. When staying with my wife.... 5 stars is the norm. It was beyond my expections. Sadly, I did not get the spa treatments (in hindsight I should have).

Thanks Steve - this ride was 25 years in the making. Why i held on to the bike, what it means to me and knowing the potential I could have on her. The ride was life changing.

There is a second reason why I am posting this - that it can be done with the same gusto, passion and experience. Not including the 4 nights stays with my wife (and 500 in round trip airfare) - my total costs for the road ride, food and 2 & 3 star hotels was less than $900. if i had not had my wife there my total cost would have been 1200. Anyway you look at it... a must do whether on your own or with spouse, friend or even picking up fellow like minded riders.

After the museum...

I got back on bike and headed to meet my wife again but this time at the https://www.albereta.it/en/franciacorta-relais.htm beautiful gardens and views of the surrounding lakes, farms and countryside. Our room was on the second floor. Very nice hotel but not quite as open as the others. I had to park my bike in the lot away from the hotel.
