The w/e 17/11 we have 10 confirmed, maybe 12 converging on https://www.visitdinnerplain.com.au/ for a night of airhead bs, drinks and other stuff.
Dinner Plain is an Alpine Village close to Mt. Hotham and getting there from any direction means well made twisty roads.
Grant, Ian and me heading up from the south. Pick up Grant at Traf. We then take the back roads via luscious dairy country and stop at Bruthen maybe at the brewery for a beer and lunch. Only if it's not crowded!
Then the real nice road starts.
Grant will bring his 78 Goldie RS on it's inaugural OB ride and Jeff will unveil his new custom Staintune mufflers.
Russell from nr Wagga Wagga (R100RT) will be on his first OB ride and so will Ian (equipo, 75/5)

Wagga Wagga?
I'm probably retiring in 11 months, I might be up for stuff like that then.

Wish I could have been there, looks like a great ride and a good meet... especially as your spring coincides with the start of sub zero temperatures here...just a bit out of my way I'm afraid. Still, I was in Brisbane, Sydney and out to Longreach last Autumn (Spring for you)... by car sadly... so who knows. If any of you ever comes to the bottom of the world, look me up.

Re: Oz Boxerworkers 2018 Spring ride.
Sorta...
Mainly family visits in company with my partner, her brother (who is 60 and has Parkinsons) and his 14 year old daughter. A good time was had by all and no one got killed (although it was a close run thing a couple of times ) A bit limiting for other visiting though.
We did about 5000 k at the end of the day and managed to get in visits to Fraser Island and Lady Elliott Island. The crowning irony was sitting on Bondi Beach drinking coffee in the pouring rain on the last day .

Re: Oz Boxerworkers 2018 Spring ride.
It's good to see you here again, Rob. Boxerworks is a bit quiet these days.
I dug out a few pics from my four day weekend. Jeff and I grabbed this camping spot on Friday night. It's very comfortable and we usually get it to ourselves - the "Camping Prohibited" signage probably helps there ...
We had about 30 minutes of rain before dark, so the tarp came in handy. It's amazing how quickly it can be put up with two sets of hands when those first drops of rain fall. We had a good big fire, gourmet food, cold beer and etc ...
At a lookout. Dunno what Jeff is doing:
Then to the crazy lodge at Dinner Plain for a very different sort of night - great to catch up with the tribe and sharebullshit stories and (of course) technical discussions on pretty well everything. Here's a fine squadron of airheads:
Grant's 'Goldie'. Bloody hell, that paintwork is bright. You really need to be wearing some good shades when the sun comes out:
Pete and I had another night up our sleeves before facing the world again so camped at The Walnuts after a magnificent ride back along the Omeo Highway with Jeff, George and Mal. Another fine evening with good food and company.
480kms round trip for me - on what must be among the best twisty roads in the universe. Brunhilde performed flawlessly, of course. She loves a load to carry in them hills. Thanks blokes. See you next time.
