Hello esteemed fellow Beamer pilots.
The brake failure light is on constantly and the one that tends to flash until you have ridden a few yards keeps flashing.
If I turn the ignition on then apply the rear brake the servo kicks in and does not stop the whining noise, if I turn the ignition on and apply the front brake the servo only runs for the amount of time the brake lever is held in for.
The bike has been standing for a couple of months but plugged in to an optimate device to keep the battery charged.
I have checked the brake callipers and the pistons all move well but there is very little residual braking.
Which makes me think the whole system needs bleeding, has anyone used one of the vacuum bleeding devices ? my thought on the rear brake is that air maybe stuck in the ABS servo somewhere which could be causing my issues, I have tried normal manual bleeding but getting nowhere.
Any thoughts

Re: R1150RT Brake issues
These bikes require having the brake system drained and refiled at least once a year. I do my R1100rs once a year just to keep fresh fluid in there and reduce contamination. All the issues that were on the brake system disappeared after I started doing regular maintenance on the system. The R1150 require a slightly different process, if you google looking for it, it should be available.
Beemer Boneyard has the funnel and a dvd for the process, following a yearly maintenance routine will help keep it operational as the brake servo system is spotty getting rebuild and damn expensive. https://www.beemerboneyard.com/abs3funnel.html

Re: R1150RT Brake issues
Many thanks, I will have a look and see what is the correct way to bleed them.
I have bled all the way through but possibly not in the correct order.

Re: R1150RT Brake issues
Check your brake switches are ok too.
The servo (iABS1) abs module on my K1200r died before xmas.
I removed it and replaced it with a blanking unit from RH Electronics. I now have no abs, no linked brakes, no chance of sudden brake failure and I still have excellent brakes.

Here is a link to RH electronics, they are located in Germany.

I also found a shop in England that was selling parts to convert to non-abs, had the U shaped brake lines to bypass in the control box, will post it's link when I find it again. Found it, https://www.motorworks.co.uk/vlive/Shop ... A50965&T=6
