Is there a need to buy a 6V battery with say 14 amp/hour capability as opposed to one with say 4 amp/hr?
I realize that the battery will flatten faster if the lights are left on without the engine running, but assuming you don't do that, are there any other negatives?

Re: 6 Volt battery question
So what bike is this for? If it is for a magneto ignition bike, then you certainly don't need 14 aH for a battery. The battery is only used as a reservoir to run the lights when the engine revs are not enough to have increased output from the generator. I stopped using open cell batteries on my R69S and am now running a battery similar to ones in UPS power backups. I'm running a 5aH battery in my R25/2 which is a battery-ignition bike.

Thanks for the reply Kurt. Sorry for delay, out of town.
Bike is a '67 R60, so just magneto, your answer was confirmation of what I was thinking.
