Can anyone recommend a side stand extender for a /5 to either to buy or make oneself?

Side stand extender recommendation for /5
Re: Side stand extender recommendation for /5
Sorry, can't help specifically for the /5 but try a search at Ali Express for "sidestand extender". Plenty of options there.

Re: Side stand extender recommendation for /5
Thanks but I saw those in my search before I posted. The weird shape of the /5 foot doesn't lend itself to simple/easy fitment.
I've read through Snowbum's ramble and there are a few options but few for the /5. Has anyone experience with any of these options?

Re: Side stand extender recommendation for /5
Curious...what is the extender try to do for you? Is the bike leaning way to far over? If that's the case, then something is wrong with the pivot of the stand. If you have the stock stand, adding something to extend the stand will cause the bike to stand too upright.
Or are you needing an extension to make it easier for your heel to catch the stand for deployment? If that's the case, you might be able to fashion something that can be welded to the end to help engagement, but not cause damage to your clothes or the bike.

I use a Surefoot on my 81 RS. It's great. I prefer it to a Brown that I previously had.

It leans too far over. The PO had fixed a bolt/plate contraption on to the heal but I kept getting my pants hung up on it. It may be the wrong stand or perhaps bent a bit but it does appear to close up nicely.Kurt in S.A. wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 12:57 pm Curious...what is the extender try to do for you? The Brown stand looks about right. Thanks, I will look into that.SteveD wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2024 5:00 ambrown v surefoot.jpgr67boxer wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 9:57 am Thanks but I saw those in my search before I posted. You OEM stand is probably the same as all from /5 thru /7. If it leans too far, then it must have been abused and bent the attachment/pivot point. Any pictures of the situation?

Good idea Kurt. The second picture shows a bend near the foot. Not sure if this is the way it should be. I may have another in my collection of bits but need to go through our storage unit to find it. Oh joy.Kurt in S.A. wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2024 9:35 am You OEM stand is probably the same as all from /5 thru /7. If it leans too far, then it must have been abused and bent the attachment/pivot point. Interesting bend...I'm sure if it were straight, the bike would sit better. Probably a little bit of bend results in quite a bit of lift to the bike.
