R100 CS Last edition Paint Code Help

Post by dluke »

I am restoring a 1984 R100 CS LE. I would like to verify the correct paint. Paint scheme on the frame is 571. Snowbum's site indicates the main color is 137 Pearl White color which seems correct from all the pictures posted. It also SEEMS to imply that the pin stripes would be 113 (Red (Motorsport Red), 114 (Motorsport Light Blue), and 115(Dark Blue (Motorsport). Can anyone verify this?

Thanks,

Welcommen.
dlearl476 from bmwmoa.org wrote:Somewhere I have the paint code and I can use the Glasuit site to compare it to Police White. I once did the reasearch as I was going to paint my 2002tii "Motorsport" colors.
EDIT:
Just found it. The paint codes I got from BMW were:
Motorsport White 083
RennsportRot 133
Hellblau 114
Dunkelblau 115

So that makes it "Police White", as that's the same paint code.

He was writing about the '78 version though. Police v Pearl white.
You could try an email to BMW Mobile Tradition with your VIN? They'll check the records and report back whatever information they have on the bike.

BMW isn't doing that anymore. It will cost money to get any more original info about a bike.

Bugger! :(

Here's an example of a letter, re the same model with the same paint. It's from BaT where a RCS LE was auctioned. Probably not very helpful to the OP though.

https://www.advrider.com/f/threads/1984 ... o.1524513/

Reading thru that thread there's some discussion between police v pearl white, but the police white more likely for California bikes.
Side by side they'd be clearly different.

It's an interesting model with some backstory and details that always generate discussion.

Re the paint, I'd be inclined to go with Snowbum's numbers as he was very good at knowing correct detail.
