Maybe when the bike is on the road/under load.

I would assume that all of the observed 'readings' are on the road. If it were 'on the drive', it would be impossible to run the engine without the clutch pulled and then it would make no difference whether it was in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th... unless it were on a running stand of course and then I still can't see how any gear off load would make any real difference to the ability to rev.

Hi Raunstrop

When you say it won't rev, do you meant stutters and coughs?

I created this issue when I adjusted my float hight badly on my old R80. Basically it had just enough juice for 30MPH but not 60. It sort of coughed and hesitated athigher speeds. Easily fixed by adjusting the little mettle tang a bit.

Good luck.
