Best ignition curve

Post by kridlokk »

I just installed the Silent Hektik digital ignition for my R80. I was wondering about the ignition curves and what to choose. The company recommends the "B" curve witch is 32⁰ of advance. What is the stock advance in degrees. Is there any performance gains of advancing the timing more?

A very loose baseline is to advance the timing in small increments until it pings under load and then retard it slightly until the pinging no longer occurs.
