The older Kilimanjaros are a great jacket, waterproof, but not breathable. I think you'd find the Gortex type materials more comfortable in the heat. First gear used to make a Kilimanjaro in leather. That was quite the coat! I really enjoy all the pockets and features of my old Kilimanjaro though. It's like touring with a file cabinet! :)
