The emphasis here is on "feeling" heavy: the nekkid K75 weighs about 500lbs with a full tank, just as light/heavy as any other Airhead (give or take), except for the G/S which is about 50lbs lighter given a similar range. My DIY G/S was just over 520lbs with a full tank.

GS'ing isn't on my mind (necessarily).

I think most of these (if not all) are replacing both the front forks and the final drive with units that come with wire wheels from the factory. Check out this link that Sibbo provided. Scroll down to the bottom.
