For me the greatest pleasure is to renew old friends from the BMW motorcycle world. Its about the only time that we see each other.
To pay for the trip, I "worked my way" to the area with cell site audits. Then stayed the night with the Craig Vetter family. He had European guests from Belgium who makes gears, specifically final drive types. Craig uses them for going to higher speed ratios for his gas mileage projects.
Then on to Darryl's place on Saturday morning. Darryl Richman, well known in /2 circles, put on a tech day at his nice place atop a hill with a great view in Santa Cruz. I was told that some 47 bikes showed up, mostly BMW.
A few bikes were service on his stands and others were cussed and discussed. I was cornered, happily, doing fork alignment and wheel bearing discussions.
By this time most/many of the attendees have used the techniques from my website and the newbie gets bombarded with "go to Duane's site" often. One rider just got his first BMW and it wobbles. Did he ever get suggestions, most of good quality from the many bystanders.
If you haven't been to one of the tech days, try one.
