Hi All,
Be carefull for what you wish for...
Been looking at the classifieds recently and found a Gentleman who are selling his bikes and parts. Here is what he mailed me:
HI JOHAN Being from the steam and hand cranked calculators era this picture thing will be a major technical leap forward so i will try to get some pictures for you tomorrow .The two project bikes are R65 1981 series Which are 650cc short stroke motors and are quite nippy. Plus they have a shorter wheelbase than the r100 and this makes for quicker handling .They are very popular for conversion to cafe racers. There are 2x carbs [set] 2x frames 2 motors [1runs the other needs a rectifier board but is otherwise complete] 4 wheels 1 gearbox [might need bearings ] at least 2 complete sets forks [1 set very nice no rust ] 2 harness also the other electricals are there for at least for one bike . rev counter is there but no speedo seat /fairing is there, left hand control but not right Mudguards front back and 2 tanks 2 drive shafts 2 diffs 1set headers 1set s/s megaphones side covers R7500 onco.Forgot 2 discs [1 good 1 bad ] calipers shoes and brake pedals rods ect .THE other project bike i have is R100/7 which is about a1974 /5 machine in parts which is 1000cc which is a real classic looking BMW with the heavy flywheel GOOD news is that parts are available and many from R100 will fit .I kid you not it will require a rebuild from the ground up and i dont want to sell this machine if you do not have the money/ know how to fix it ,allow 10/15 k to bring it to good condition. R5500 There are many spare parts for it 2 motors 4 wheels gearboxes 2 sets forks good condition Tank spare crankshafts to many to list .THE third project bike i have is a 1981 R100 RS which is near fiinshed needs a speedo and maybe a new clutch plate it has cost me 25k in total which is what i want for it .All parts used are OEM BMW not a single non standard item has been used .THE ONLY reason for the sale is my arthritis in my shoulder .let me know if you would be intrested . Regards Peter
I'm not really into R65's but am interested in the R100
(reply after my 2nd mail):
HI JOHAN the price for the bike is R5500 The quantity of parts will fill up a bakkie or a trailer TO MUCH to send by post. THERE are at least 3 engine blocks 4 wheels tank 2 sets forks with yokes and 2 fly wheels heads /barrels load of spares .YOU will have to allow me 2 days to unpack them from the shelves before collection. Head light complete + two others 3 harness 2 drive shafts 2 bevel drive set shocks set of complete carbs .I have run the frame and engine numbers through the police and traffic dept. computers to make sure that all is ok as i dont need any nonsense in that regard ,all was ok .I will hold the sale of these parts for a couple of days while you consider your options. Best regards Peter.
OK, the bad news, he lives 1000km's from me, the good news, I have found a relatively cheap courier.
My wife dunno shite of bikes and stuff, that is why I'm talking to you out there, my Airhead buds, so what do you say, is this a deal or what??

In your negoations, who will be the translater? He obviously isn't a native English speaker.
Ask the Indians what happens when you don't control immigration.
